Songwriters Festival 2024: A Weekend of Music, Stories, and Community
Every October, the heart of the Texas Hill Country comes alive with storytelling, song, and soul during the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival—and this year’s event, held October 18–20, 2024, was one we at NestHaven Properties won’t soon forget.
We were honored to be part of this incredible celebration of music, creativity, and community. From intimate performances to spontaneous conversations, Songwriters 2024 reminded us why Dripping Springs is such a special place to live, work, and create.
A Weekend Wrapped in Melody and Meaning
Downtown Dripping Springs transformed into a live music haven, with 35+ songwriters performing 70+ shows across seven local venues. Each set followed the unique “in-the-round” Nashville-style format, where songwriters took turns sharing their music and the stories behind them. It was intimate, authentic, and at times, deeply moving.
Venues That Brought the Stories to Life
One of our favorite parts of the festival was how each performance space added its own charm and flavor:
-
The Barber Shop – a vintage feel with timeless acoustic sounds
-
Mazama Coffee Co. – the perfect blend of rich coffee and rich storytelling
-
Acopon Brewing – where great beer met even greater lyrics
-
Hudson’s on Mercer – cozy and personal, like being invited into someone’s living room
These local spots created a welcoming backdrop that allowed the music to truly shine.
More Than Music—A Full Community Experience
While the music was the heartbeat of the festival, the whole weekend was filled with Hill Country magic:
-
Food trucks and local restaurants offered everything from savory BBQ to gourmet vegan options
-
Artisan booths lined the streets with handmade goods, art, and Hill Country charm
-
And everywhere you turned, there was that unmistakable Dripping Springs community energy—kind, creative, and connected
NestHaven Was There—And So Were You
This year, NestHaven Properties was thrilled to host a space for festival goers to cool off, recharge, and hang out. Our doors were open, and it was a joy to welcome neighbors, clients, and new friends into our space for a few quiet moments between sets.
And in the spirit of keeping the community moving—literally—we were also proud to sponsor the golf carts that helped shuttle guests around the festival. It was our way of making the weekend a little more accessible, a little more comfortable, and a lot more connected. At NestHaven, service goes beyond real estate—it’s about showing up for the moments that bring our town together.
Whether you stopped by for a break, asked about Hill Country homes, or just grabbed a cold drink and good conversation—we were so glad to see you.
Looking Ahead
If you’ve never been to the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival, trust us—it’s not just about the music. It’s about connection. It’s about stories. It’s about celebrating the creative spirit that makes this town so unique.
We left the weekend with full hearts, inspired by the talent, the community, and the shared love of song. We’re already looking forward to next October—and we hope to see you there.
