The Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival (DSSF) was founded in 2014 with the aim of providing a premier platform for up-and-coming songwriters worldwide. The festival was organized by Laurie and Jim Halfpenny and Dave Niemeyer from 2014 to 2019, introducing the Dripping Springs community to numerous talented emerging songwriters and hosting performances by many renowned artists.

The festival features small-stage performances by up-and-coming songwriters in historic downtown Dripping Springs, with 45+ songwriters performing on 8 stages in a Nashville-style song-swap format.
